Dr. Ji Min “Mina” Yochim first became interested in dentistry
after going on a medical/dental mission trip to Mexico with her church
during graduate studies. After obtaining her Ph.D. degree at the University
of Southern California (USC) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology she
worked for two years as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California,
Los Angeles (UCLA) dental school. While conducting oral cancer research
at UCLA, her interest in dentistry increased and she pursued my dream
of becoming a dentist. She received my Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry
(D.M.D.) degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2009.
Her daughter was born one month into her first year of dental school. She
loves children and enjoys treating them in the clinic. Raising her daughter
increased her passion for children's oral health and led her to pursue
two years of pediatric dentistry specialty training at USC after completing
4 years of dental school. As a mother, she relates with and understands
parents and their daily struggles very well. She focuses on providing
positive experiences, preventing cavities by educating each child and
their parents. As a child, she was afraid to go to the dentist, so she
understands how they might feel.
Dr. Mina is a board-certified pediatric dentist and an active member of
the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Western Society of Pediatric
Dentistry, the college of the diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric
Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Montana Dental Association,
and the local 6th District Dental Society in Bozeman.
Dr. Mina loves to spend time with family, camping, traveling, ice skating,
watching movies and Korean drama, listening to classical music, volunteering/serving
at church, in the community and many other activities.
